Tharwa Petroleum posts 3.5 m-barrel reserve boost in ’24

Tharwa Petroleum added 3.5 million barrels of proven reserves in Egypt’s West Kalabsha area in 2024, company chairman Mahmoud Abdel Hameed said during the general assembly meeting to review the 2024 results.

Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi reaffirmed the ministry’s ongoing support for Tharwa Petroleum Company to expand its operations and enhance its competitive edge in exploration and production activities both inside and outside Egypt.

The company adopted cost-saving measures, replaced leased facilities with permanent ones, and used associated gases as diesel alternatives, cutting emissions and improving efficiency.

Tharwa also achieved 3.7 million safe working hours for the ninth straight year and advanced digital transformation with SAP-based HR systems.
