A 6.3-magnitude earthquake hit western Afghanistan on Sunday in Herat province where more than 1,000 people were killed in tremors last week, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
The quake hit shortly after 8am with an epicentre 33 kilometres north-west of Herat city. It was followed by a 5.5-magnitude aftershock 20 minutes later.
There is not yet reports of causalities, however investigations are still in progress.
