Three Palestinian students shot in Vermont
Three Palestinian students were shot on Saturday in the US state of Vermont near their campus in a hate crime, international press reported on Monday.
Hisham Awartani, Tahseen Ahmed, and Kinnan Abdalhamid were shot by a man near University of Vermont Campus, Burlington police said.
Officers are “investigating a possible motive”, according to BBC.
The police aid that the victims were wearing the traditional Palestinian keffiyeh and speaking Arabic.
Jason J Eaton, aged 48 has been arrested as a suspect Burlington police said.
Two of the victims are in a stable condition while the third has suffered much more serious injuries.
The three victims have attended Ramallah Friends School, a private non-profit school in Ramallah.
Abdalhamid was a student at Haverford College, while the other two were studying at Brown University.
The victims are all in their early 20s as they fell victims to a hate crime, solely because they were speaking Arabic.
