Toshiba’s JV with Egyptian Elaraby opens regional HQ in South Africa
Toshiba El-Araby, a joint venture between Egyptian consumer electronics distributor and maker Elaraby and Japan’s Toshiba, on Thursday inaugurated its first regional headquarters in South Africa’s Johannesburg.
The move aimed at tapping into new markets and reaching more African countries.
The new headquarters will export made-in-Egypt products to 16 Southern African Development Community (SADC) member-countries, chief executive Mohamed Mahmoud El-Araby said.
SADC has 16 member states; Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Congo, Swaziland, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
