Tourah Cement halts Production, Packaging in Torah Plant Temporarily

Tourah Cement (TORA) said on Monday that it has halted production and packaging in its Torah plant temporarily in order to assure safety of operation.

Last February, the Italcementi Group subsidiary denied that the workers protesting on its premises are its employees.

Tourah Cement said they work for a contractor who does shipping services for the company, and that the company facilitated the talks between the contractor and his employees as an initiative from the company which led to ending the protest and resolving the dispute.

The cement maker said the protest caused slight losses and delayed cement delivery, adding that it will not impact the company’s financial results.
