Tourism Ministry started investigations with 6 Egyptian tourism agencies that got Umrah visas for 350 pilgrims without reserving flights for them.
Abdel Aziz Hassan, chairman of central administration for companies, pointed out that the ministry investigated with these companies over sending the pilgrims to the airport without reservations; meanwhile EgyptAir Airlines solved the problem by providing flights to overcome the crisis.
He said the Tourism Ministry stipulates that the tourism companies should reserve the flight tickets before getting the visas, then the airlines issue letters of these reservations to be directly delivered to the Tourism Minister, and the visas will not be granted without confirmed tickets. The ministry also warns the companies of sending the pilgrims to ports without temporary tickets.
Hassan said the ministry will make sure if there fake reservations have provided, as sanctions will be implemented on these companies if proved that.
