Toyota Motor Corp. reported on Wednesday a 6.2 per cent decrease in global production for November, with 869,230 units produced, down from the previous year, a larger fall than October’s 0.8 per cent dip.
However, domestic production in Japan dropped 9.3 per cent to 285,761 units in November 2024, due in part to a two-day production halt at its Fujimatsu and Yoshiwara plants, the report added.
Despite the production decline, Toyota’s global sales rose 1.7 per cent to a record high of 920,569 units in November 2024. Domestic sales fell 6.6 per cent, while overseas sales increased 3.2 per cent to a record 790,108 units.
