Egyptian trade and industry ministry aims at increasing the added value of the industrial products and raise their quality within the upcoming period, newly-appointed minister Tarek Kabil said Tuesday.
The minister made these remarks during his meeting on Monday with the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI)’s chairman Mohamed El-Sewedy and Vice Chairman Tarek Tawfik.
The ministry also targets deepening the local manufacturing, establishing industrial complexes for industries with added value and adopting latest technology that would lead to a momentum leap for the industrial sector, Kabli stated.
Minister Kabil added that the ministry will adopt a number of procedures within the upcoming period to solve the problems facing the industrial sector, facilitate the procedures to encourage and develop the industrial investments, and maximize the role of industrial sector in GDP.
Kabil added that the ministry will completely back Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to develop them and boost their competitiveness.
Moreover, the minister clarified that trade ministry is currently completing a number of important projects such as Golden Triangle and Al-Robeky industrial zone for leather tanneries.
