Trump retreats promise of coronavirus vaccine by year-end
U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday appeared to retreat his claim that a coronavirus vaccine would be developed by the end of the current year.
When asked if he was still convinced that a vaccine would be developed by the end of the year, Trump answered: “You can never be convinced.”
The U.S. president went on saying: “I can’t be convinced of anything, but I think that we have a really good shot of having something very very substantial.”
He added that “we are doing really great” and he is receiving daily reports from companies working to develop a vaccine.
On Sunday, Trump referred that he is “very confident” that a vaccine will be developed by the end of 2020.
