Trump’s praise of Egypt’s safety ‘invaluable promotion’ for tourism -PM

Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump’s latest remarks praising Egypt’s low crime rate compared with the United States serve as “priceless publicity” for the country and its tourism industry.

Speaking during his weekly press conference, Madbouly said Egypt enjoys “one of the highest levels of safety in the world,” and that Trump’s statement at the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace reflected international recognition of Egypt’s domestic stability.

“When the president of the world’s most powerful country acknowledges Egypt’s safety, that’s invaluable promotion for our nation,” Madbouly said. “It will certainly support our tourism campaigns in the period ahead.”

Madbouly added that Egypt aims to double tourist arrivals and revenues in the coming years, building on strong momentum this year and the anticipated global attention surrounding the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

“Promoting Egypt as one of the world’s safest destinations will remain a central part of our strategy,” he said.
