Zaki Ekinci, Chairman of Turkish-Egyptian Businessmen Association (TUMİAD), said the Turkish government is seeking to found an official Egyptian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of boosting the mutual economic cooperation and increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
In an exclusive statement to Amwal Al Ghad, Ekinci stated that the Turkish embassy in Cairo is currently in talks with other foreign chambers of commerce so as to benefit from their expertise and to found the Egyptian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce which will include investors and businessmen from both countries. The chamber will also contribute to alluring multiple Turkish investments to the Egyptian market.
Ekinci further added that the Turkish-Egyptian Businessmen Association and the Turkish Chamber of Commerce will cooperate and work on activating the chamber’s role. Multiple meetings and visits are to be organized for the Egyptian and Turkish businessmen in order for strengthening the volume of the mutual cooperation, he noted.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Ambassador in Cairo Huseyin Awni is holding nowadays meetings with the chairmen of the foreign chambers of commerce in Egypt so as to get to know more about the mechanisms for establishing effective chambers.
Ekinci further said the number of Turkish and Egyptian businessmen willing to join the chamber will initially reach 50.
Moreover, Ekinci expressed his optimism about the Egyptian economy and its ability to face the current challenges. He stressed on the importance of unity among Egyptians in order to work and push the production wheel forward.
