Turkey’s Eroglu Garment starts building $40m garment factory in Egypt

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) and Turkey’s Eroglu Global Holding Group laid the foundation stone for a new $40 million garment factory in the West Qantara Industrial Area on Tuesday.

The groundbreaking project is set to create 2,750 jobs and commence operations in January 2025.

“The Eroglu Global Holding project adds a new chapter to Turkish investments within SCZONE, in addition to being the first Turkish project in the West Qantara Zone,” SCZONE Chairman, Waleid Gamal El-Dien stated.

The 64,000 square metre facility marks a significant milestone for Turkish investment in the region, being the first of its kind in West Qantara. The first phase of the project will focus on building facilities to produce 7 million jeans annually. The factory aims to export 70 per cent  of its output, targeting $100 million in sales.

Eroglu’s Chairman, Noureddine Eroğlu has outlined plans for a future expansion of 400,000 square metres.

Leveraging West Qantara’s strategic location, skilled workforce, and access to resources, the project aligns with SCZONE’s efforts to attract foreign investment. Eroglu Global Holding, with its third investment in Egypt, is committed to sustainable practices, including water treatment and renewable energy.
