Turkey’s services production declines in August ’24
Turkey’s service production declined in August 2024, with the index falling by 0.1 per cent year-on-year compared to the same month in 2023.
Notable declines were seen in transport and storage services, which dropped by 4.1 per cent, and accommodation and food services, down by 0.2 per cent.
However, growth was recorded in several sectors, with information and communication services rising by 6.3 per cent, real estate services by 14.8 per cent, and professional, scientific, and technical services by 0.4 per cent.
On a monthly basis, the index decreased by 0.2 per cent from July 2024. Transport and storage services declined by 2.3 per cent, while accommodation and food services saw a slight increase of 0.3 per cent.
Information and communication services rose by 4.5 per cent, and real estate services grew by 7.4 per cent. Professional, scientific, and technical services increased by 0.6 per cent, but administrative and support services fell by 1.0 per cent.
