Turkish company to build textile label plant in Egypt’s West Qantara

Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed a $4.1 million contract with Turkish company Etiket Sanayi A.Ş. on Tuesday to build a factory producing textile labels in the West Qantara Industrial Zone.

According to a SCZONE statement, the 3,000-square-metre facility will have an annual output of around 60 million units, supporting the country’s spinning, textile, and ready-made garment industries. The project is expected to create about 300 direct jobs when fully operational.

SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dein said the project underscores rising investor confidence in Egypt’s industrial zones, particularly West Qantara, which is emerging as a strategic hub for the country’s textile and garment sector. “This project strengthens supplier industries, enhances the textile value chain, and boosts local value addition,” he said.

West Qantara Industrial Zone now hosts 51 projects covering more than 3.467 million square metres, with total investments of $1.356 billion and more than 70,000 direct jobs, Gamal El-Dein added.

Etiket Sanayi A.Ş. specialises in textile assembly and packaging, producing labels and identification products for multiple factories and brands, and complies with international quality standards for exports.
