Türkiye’s annual inflation eased to 37.86 per cent in April 2025 from 38.10 per cent in March despite global market volatility and rising trade tensions, with consumer prices rising 3.0 per cent month-on-month, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) reported on Monday.
Education led annual price gains with a 79.2 per cent increase, followed by housing at 74.07 per cent and health at 41.99 per cent. The lowest annual inflation was seen in clothing and footwear at 16.92 per cent, communications at 21.31 per cent and transport at 22.76 per cent.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and housing were the largest contributors to the annual inflation rate. Food prices rose by 36.09 per cent, contributing 9.21 percentage points, while housing added 9.98 points and transport 3.84 points.
The monthly inflation rate was 3 percent, up from 2.46 percent in March, according to the latest data.
