North and South American markets opened mixed on Wednesday in early trading session as Nasdaq Composite gained 47.53 points or 0.42 percent while Canada’s S&P/TSX Composite fall by 0.90 percent. Toronto’s index – S&P/TSX 60 advanced by 0.40 percent.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA raised by 0.70 percent and the U.S S&P 500 gained 26.79 points or 0.68 percent. Investors awaited another likely interest rate hike from the U.S. Federal Reserve as it fights to tame surging inflation.
However, U.S. Russell 2000 added 0.29 percent to record 1,792.13, while Mexico Stock Exchange decreased by 0.25 percent.
