UAE issues 1st authorised lottery licence

The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has issued the UAE’s first authorised lottery licence to The Game LLC, marking a significant step in regulating the country’s commercial gaming sector. The Game LLC, operating as the UAE Lottery, will provide a variety of lottery games.

GCGRA Chairman Jim Murren highlighted this launch as a critical development in establishing a disciplined, world-class regulatory framework. CEO Kevin Mullally emphasised the authority’s dedication to consumer protection and regulatory oversight, ensuring integrity, fairness, and transparency.

The GCGRA’s regulatory framework aims to safeguard consumers and uphold stakeholder interests.

Engaging in or facilitating unapproved gaming activities in the UAE is illegal and subject to severe penalties, including consumer participation via unlicensed operators.
