UAE president, Canadian foreign minister discuss need to protect Palestinian civilians

United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday received Melanie Joly, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, as they called for the urgent need to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting also emphasised on the importance of bolstering the humanitarian response, amid the worsening situation and the critical developments threatening regional and global security, stability, and peace.

They also stressed the importance of working in a co-ordinated manner at regional and international levels in order to end extremism, tension and escalating violence in the region.
