Uganda secures $800m from IsDB

Uganda has signed Thursday a $800 million financing agreement with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to fund infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing trade, including a planned railway linking to Kenya’s Standard Gauge Railway and the port of Mombasa.

According to the finance ministry’s statement, the three-year deal will also support initiatives in health, transport, and energy.
