Uganda’s coffee export value surged 83.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in January to $156.5 million, driven by rising global prices, the agriculture ministry announced on Monday.
The country, Africa’s top coffee exporter, shipped 550,341 60-kg bags, marking a 14.4 per cent increase in volume. The ministry attributed the price surge to dry weather conditions in Brazil and Vietnam, key global producers.
