UK budget stability remains priority – Starmer

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reaffirmed on Monday that the government will adhere to the fiscal rules outlined in Finance Minister Rachel Reeves’ October budget.

“We’re going to stick to our fiscal rules,” Starmer said, emphasising the importance of economic stability. He noted that these rules were established early to address the “missing ingredient” in recent years.

When asked about Reeves’ position ahead of the next general election, expected in 2029, Starmer expressed full confidence in her and the government’s growth strategy.
