UK employment rate rises in June-August ’24
The UK employment rate for individuals aged between 16 and 64 years was estimated at 75.0 per cent for the period from June to August 2024, reflecting an increase from the previous year and a rise in the latest quarter, according to official statistics institute ONS.
The ONS data also showed that the unemployment rate for those aged 16 and over stood at 4.0 per cent in June to August 2024, marking a decline compared to the same period last year and a drop in the most recent quarter.
Additionally, the economic inactivity rate for the 16 to 64 age group recorded 21.8 per cent, also lower than estimates from a year ago and down from the last quarter.
