Sherif Saleh, head of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, met with Luxor Governor Abdel Mottaleb Emara to discuss ongoing and planned development projects in the governorate, Egypt’s Cabinet said Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed progress on several initiatives, including a handicrafts zone, a tomato paste production complex, and sewing workshops in the cities of Armant and Esna. Officials also discussed new proposals aimed at enhancing agricultural and industrial output in the region.
Saleh highlighted Luxor’s strategic importance and reiterated the authority’s commitment to sustainable projects that generate jobs and support the local economy. He also commended the governorate for its role in facilitating project implementation.
The discussions are part of the authority’s wider strategy to boost cooperation with regional development partners and implement integrated projects that contribute to national economic growth and improved living standards, the statement said.
