The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of Bank of England (BOE) decided on Thursday to keep the interest rate unchanged at 4.75 per cent during its December 19 meeting, according to the bank’s statement.
The decision reflects efforts to address domestic inflationary pressures and achieve the 2 per cent inflation target sustainably. While progress in disinflation has been noted over recent quarters, core inflation remains persistent.
