URGENT: Egypt’s annual core inflation hits 11.3% in Sept – CBE
Egypt’s annual core inflation rose to 11.3 per cent in September from 10.7 per cent in August, the central bank said on Wednesday, marking a slight uptick as policymakers monitor price pressures.
On a monthly basis, core consumer prices increased by 1.5 per cent in September, compared with 1.0 per cent in the same month a year earlier and 0.1 per cent in August 2025, data showed.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy items, is a key gauge for the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) when assessing monetary policy. The full inflation bulletin will be published on Oct. 15.
