URGENT: Egypt’s Sisi calls on Trump to exert all effort to stop war in Gaza

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday called on all countries to exert every possible effort to end the war in Gaza and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid.

In a televised statement, President Sisi said that since October 7, 2024, Egypt—working with partners in the United States and Qatar—has exerted maximum effort on three fronts: halting the war, allowing aid into Palestine, and securing the release of all detainees.

“Our stance has always been constructive, calling for an end to the war, the establishment of a two-state solution, and a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian cause. We have firmly rejected the displacement of Palestinians, as we believe this would undermine the two-state solution and prevent the creation of a Palestinian state.

“Our values prevent us from halting aid into Gaza. However, delivering aid requires coordination with the other side operating the crossing. Egypt’s role has never been obstructive. We have not changed, and we will not change.”

“I call on all countries—the European Union, the United States, and our Arab brothers—to exert the utmost effort during this critical time to stop the war, allow aid into the Gaza Strip, and bring this crisis to an end.

“I call on President Trump, who I believe has the ability to stop the war, ensure the entry of aid, and resolve the crisis. President Trump, please do your best to stop the war and let the aid in,” President Sisi concluded.
