URGENT: Trump arrives in Egypt for Sharm El-Sheikh summit, escorted by Egyptian F-16s

US President Donald Trump arrived in Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday to attend the peace summit, a high-level gathering aimed at consolidating the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and charting postwar recovery for Gaza.

Trump’s aircraft was escorted into Egyptian airspace by a formation of Egyptian F-16 fighter jets in a show of diplomatic welcome and security coordination, Egyptian state media reported.

The summit, hosted by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, brings together regional and international leaders to discuss steps toward lasting peace, humanitarian relief, and reconstruction efforts in Gaza following the end of the war.
