U.S. Evacuates Some Diplomats in Pakistan: Report

The U.S. has evacuated most of its diplomats from the Pakistani city of Lahore on concern about a threat to the consulate there, CNN reported late Thursday.

All but “a handful of emergency personnel” were relocated to Islamabad, the report said. A day earlier, at least 30 police officers were killed and 50 others injured in a suicide attack on a police funeral in Quetta, a city in Pakistan’s southwest.
