USAID grants $39m to support Egyptian women

USAID has allocated $38.5 million grant to  fund economic and social empowerment of 150,000 Egyptian women in 7 governorates, the Egyptian Cabinet stated on Wednesday. The initiatives include workshops on financial inclusion, combating bullying and harassment, and assessing private-sector nurseries.

The projects are set to cover Cairo, Giza, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, and Beheira, benefiting 150,000 women directly and 15 million women indirectly.

Efforts include vocational training programmes in Beheira, Cairo, and Giza, with plans for expansion. Collaboration extends to improving workplace environments.
