Uzbekistan inflation at 9.8% in Dec. ’24

Uzbekistan’s inflation rate was reported to be 9.8 per cent year-on-year in December 2024, according to local media sources on Thursday.

The report indicated that food prices rose 2.4 per cent compared to the previous year, while services saw a significant increase of 26.7 per cent, based on data from the national statistics agency.

In November 2024, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined the country’s economic goals for the next five years, targeting an annual growth rate of 6-7 perc cent and aiming for a sustainable reduction in inflation to 5-6 per cent.
