Vodafone achieves H1 pre-tax profit of €214 million in Egypt
Vodafone, the world’s second biggest mobile operator, says pre-tax profits in Egypt have reached 4 billion Egyptian pounds (€214 million and $226 million) during the first half of the current financial year ended in September.
Vodafone Egypt’s revenues recorded 9 billion pounds (€475 million) and the operational profits registered 2.75 billion pounds (€145 million), the company added.
Vodafone Egypt’s financial year begins in April and ends in March of each year. The mobile operator said the financial results were based on euro’s exchange rate of 19.1 Egyptian pounds.
Revenues for the second quarter solely recorded 4.4 billion pounds (€232 million) with growth rate of 21 percent from a year ago.
