Egyptian world champions Mohamed El Shorbagy and Nour El Sherbiny be hosting a Q&A session on Twitter on Monday, April 23, at 6pm and 7pm Cairo time respectively via the hashtags #AskShorbagy and #AskSherbini during El Gouna International Squash Open.
Shorbagy and Sherbini, who have been active on Twitter since 2011 and 2009 respectively, will be revealing exclusive details about their future goals this year, and answering any additional questions by their followers.
Sherbini is no stranger to Twitter Q&As. She participated in one last year on April 9th, in El Gouna, Red Sea.
In her short career thus far, Sherbini, born in 1995, is one of the most intriguing female players shaping Egyptian history at both the World Championship and British Open on the PSA World Tour. She became the youngest ever World Junior Champion in 2009 and in June of that year, Sherbini claimed the title at just 13-years-old making her the youngest ever finalist to win the runner-up position at the Miro Classic tournament.
This will be Shorbagy’s first ever Twitter Q&A, which makes it an exciting opportunity for his fans to connect from all around the globe. Shorbagy, born in 1991, topped the Squash world ranking scores in November 2014 and in March 2018. Since joining the PSA World Tour in 2006 as a 15-year old school boy, under the tutelage of the legendary Jonah Barrington, Mohamed ElShorbagy emerged as one of the most talented players in the circuit. The Alexandria-born star rose to prominence in 2007 after he became the first player in history to secure a maiden PSA World Tour title at a five-star event.
The athletes will announce the Q&A through their Twitter accounts using a relevant hashtag similar to those used in other Q&As. Fans can then directly pose their queries by including a question and the hashtag in their Tweets, prior to the live Q&A. During the live session, the athletes will answer the questions via video or text Tweets.
