Zewail City of Science and Technology (ZCST), the brainchild of late Nobel laureate Ahmed Zewail, is putting out to tender on a new medical insurance policy for its employees.
The policy is with total sum insured of 22 million Egyptian pounds ($1.2 billion) designated to serve around 450 employees, sources with knowledge told Amwal Al Ghad on Tuesday.
The coverage will worth 50,000 pounds per person, according to the insurance policy, whose cover will involve surgeries, endoscopes, in addition to the medical bills, outpatient clinics, medicines, dental treatments, and chronic diseases, the sources added.
The insurance policy will also cover costs of medical tests, surgeries, treatment of mental illness, intensive care, and dialysis, according to the sources.
Zewail City of Science and Technology is a nonprofit, independent institution of learning, research and innovation, covering 198 feddans in Sixth of October City. The concept of the City was proposed in 1999 and its cornerstone laid on January 1, 2000.
