Hassan Allam, Orascom join forces for New Alamein’s government HQ

Egypt’s state-owned construction firm Hassan Allam and the country’s Orascom Construction are teaming up to execute a bunch of government headquarters in the first phase of New El Alamein City, northwest of Cairo, sources said Saturday.

“The first phase will include a headquarter for the Cabinet and another for the presidency as well as three giant buildings for sovereign authorities,” the source with knowledge further told Amwal Al Ghad.

“It is planned to inaugurate the first phase within this summer,” they said, adding that the state’s New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) seeks to operate the government headquarters within 2019.

Egyptian Concord for Engineering and Construction Company is responsible for implementing the infrastructure works of the new government headquarters, the sources stated, referring that Sabbour Consulting is set to execute the designs and engineering consultancies.

“Sabbour Consulting will complete the works of the buildings for the sovereign authorities within this year,” the sources said, elaborating that the company finalised the Cabinet headquarters during the last period.
