EGX heads south on April 24th

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed red on Wednesday. The main index, EGX30 sunk by 3.21 per cent, to 25,917.59 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 dropped by 3.49 per cent, to 5,997.17 points.

The index, EGX100 index went down by 3.48 per cent, to 8,510.24 points.

The total market cap reached 1,768,785,206,999 Egyptian pounds.

Arabs and Non-Arab transactions were mainly buying with a total of 335,006,078 Egyptian pounds, and 6,850,591,961 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, the Egyptians were net sellers with 7,185,598,039 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers on Wednesday

The shares of Arabian Cement Company (ARCC.CA) rose by 10.83 per cent, to close at the price of 13.100 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Sharkia National Food (SNFC.CA) climbed by 10.36 per cent, to trade at the price of 2.130 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Contact Financial Holding (CNFN.CA) jumped by 9.65 per cent, to the purchasing price of 4.430 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers on Wednesday

The shares of Engineering Industries (ICON) (ENGC.CA) fell by 10.51 per cent, to close at 16.610 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Medical Packaging Company (MEPA.CA) declined by 10.18 per cent, to close at 1.156 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of ODIN Financial Investments (ODIN.CA) dropped by 9.24 per cent, to close at the price of 2.160 Egyptian pounds a share.
