German KfW Development Bank, GIZ opening new offices in Cairo

Germany and Egypt signed an agreement on Thursday for German state-run KfW Development Bank and German Agency for International Cooperation or (GIZ) to open two new offices in Cairo.

Egyptian Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr signed the deal with German Ambassador to Cairo, Julius Georg Luy in the presence of Burkhard Hinz, director of KfW Cairo Office, and Andreas Kuck, GIZ country director.

KfW’s new office will be dedicated for the implementation of the financial cooperation projects and programmes with Egypt on behalf of the German government, the Egyptian International Cooperation Ministry’s statement read. As for the GIZ’s new office, it will in charge of providing support for the GIZ-led projects and programmes in Egypt.
