The number of Egypt’s Chamber of Information Technology and Communications (CIT) member firms reached 1,020, representing 25 percent of total firms working in ICT sector.
State’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency ITIDA stated Sunday that the number of firms working in ICT sector is ranging between 4,000 and 6,000.
Walid Gad, CEO of CIT said that this big gap comes from the involvement of some tech firms in exporting activities, accordingly, they show no interest to be a CIT-member.
Gad added that in the coming period, the Chamber will work on doubling the number of its members as well as giving a good push to the current ones in cooperation with ITIDA
