Almost 30 people were injured when four train carriages caught fire in Menoufiya, in Egypt’s Nile Delta on Monday morning.
The fire grounded train services on the Tanta-Menoufiya-Cairo line, railway spokesperson Nagwa Albert Habib told Ahram Online.
The injured were transferred to hospital, a local health official told Al-Ahram Arabic news website.
The fire took place near Shebin El-Kom city on a train travelling from Cairo to Tanta.

Egypt has been hit by a number of train crashes in the past years, shedding light t on its poorly maintained railway tracks.
In 2002, one of the deadliest railway tragedies in Egypt took place, as the bodies of more than 360 bodies were recovered from a train after a fire.
