There are around 50 Indian companies operating in Egypt with investments worth US$3 billion, New Delhi ambassador to Cairo Sanjay Bhattacharyya said Thursday.
Bhattacharyya made this statement during his meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade Tarek Qabil.
The Indian firms working in Egypt provide around 35,000 job opportunities for Egyptian labour, the Indian official added.
Egypt is one of India’s key trade partners in the Middle East and Africa regions, Bhattacharyya said.
Moreover, Bhattacharyya has invited minister Qabil to take part in the Indian-African Summit, which will take place in New Dehhi on October 27 and 28, 2015.
