Around 177 international consortiums of companies have applied for solar and wind power projects in Egypt, chairman of New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) Mohamed EL Sobki said on Thursday.
According to EL Sobki, out of 177, around 67 companies have been elected to take part in solar and wind energy projects in Egypt.
The official made his remarks during a conference organized by Egyptian Commercial Services office in London on Egypt’s renewable energy sector.
This remarkable number of international consortium applicants reflects the growing global interests to seize the available investment opportunities in Egypt in solar and wind projects, with total capacity estimated at 4.300 megawatts, NREA chairman elaborated.
