Egypt breaks 500 new coronavirus cases barrier, infections on the rise

The Health Ministry reported in a statement that 511 new coronavirus cases were detected in Egypt over Monday, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 122,086

Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 23 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 6,943.

As many as 257 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 105,132 so far, the spokesman said.
