Ayman Eissa, Head of the Egyptian-Ethiopian Business Council, said visit of the Ethiopian delegation, which aims at boosting the trade cooperation opportunities and the joint investments, has been delayed. The Ethiopian delegation includes a number of ministers, businessmen and investors.
In a phone call from Ethiopia to Amwal Al Ghad, Eissa has affirmed that he is coordinating with the Ethiopian side to sign several protocols of cooperation, to inject a number of hefty investing ventures in Egypt, in different fields, like the agricultural, industrial and tourism fields, as well as discussing the mechanism of reviving the intra-region trade between the two countries.
He added that the conference, which was supposed to be held from 2 to 6 December, is postponed to January; till restoring stability in Egypt. He referred that the incidents that Egypt is witnessing nowadays will reflect a negative image to the investors.
Eissa underscored the necessity of this visit, which is the first Ethiopian delegation of the government after the Egyptian revolution, including a large number of businessmen, investors and ministers.
The Egyptian investments volume inside the Ethiopian market reached US$ 2 billion. And there are efforts for increasing the volume of investments in the Ethiopian market. The trade exchange volume between the two countries amounted to US$ 600 million, and the number of Egyptian investment ventures in Ethiopia are 72 one.
