Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development earmarked four billion Egyptian pounds ($203 million) for a substantial investment plan in Qena governorate, the Cabinet reported on Sunday.
The Citizen Investment Plan which aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency and public awareness, will be implemented for the fiscal year 2023/2024.
The plan outlines 277 development projects across various sectors. Local development has the largest share of 1.2 billion pounds, followed by housing at 933 million pounds.
The report highlights education as a top priority, with 865 million pounds allocated for higher and pre-university levels. Furthermore, 447 million Egyptian pounds will be invested in transport infrastructure.
