Egypt forms advisory committee to boost oilfield production

Egyptian Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi has initiated the formation of a new consulting committee dedicated to maximising oilfield production and reservoir management. The committee’s primary focus will be on enhancing sustainability, boosting efficiency, and guaranteeing safe operations. This announcement was made during a high-level meeting with key oil industry leaders..

The committee will hold regular meetings to oversee the implementation of its recommendations, support industry workers, and address challenges.

Minister Badawi emphasised that the committee’s formation is in line with the government’s broader strategy of attracting investments, creating a favourable business environment, and developing the skills of petroleum sector employees. The government also aims to improve operational efficiency and strengthen environmental, health, and safety standards.
