The Egyptian exports of the ready-made garments achieved as to EGP 2.3 billion during the first quarter of 2013, rose by 7% from a year before.
Egypt’s exports of the ready-made garments to the USA, pursuant to the QIZ protocol, reached the rate of 50% of total exports during this period; recording about EGP 1.1 billion by the end of March, according to sources from the Foreign Trade Sector.
The sources added that the European Union (EU) ranked second in importing the ready-made garments from the Egyptian market; attaining EGP 831 million, while the rest value of Egypt’s exports of garments is distributed on a number of Arab and Asian countries.
