Cooperative Insurance Society of Egypt (CIS) is going to hold a general assembly on Tuesday for electing two senior Board members, in a move to increase members of Board to 11 members, Abdel Monem Bakheet, chairman of Cooperative Insurance Society of Egypt, said.
Bakheet added that the general assembly meeting was to be held on Monday, but was delayed because the legal quorum of members was not present, which is 10% of the total 350 thousand general assembly members.
The elections will be done today without being restricted with the condition that the legal quorum shall be present, Bakheet confirmed. CIS managing director will be elected from these two members.
Four members are running for CIS senior membership namely, Ali Shaker, head of insurance department at Faculty of Commerce in Cairo University; Nazhy Ghalioum, former managing director of Iskan Insurance Company; Mohamed Abdel Rahim El-Sabe, former managing director at CIS and Amal Masoud, former consultant at Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA).
It is worth mentioning that EGFA rejected the appeal submitted by El-Sabe and Masoud against CIS’ procedures in accepting candidates’ documents.
It is worth mentioning that CIS’ board of directors members are Nabil Helmy, Ahmed Fouad, Hassan Kamal, Shaimaa Mohamed, Mohamed El-Shafei, Taher Salah El-Din and Alaa Gamal as well as Abdel Monem Bakheet as a chairman.
