Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover (FTT) reached $59.4 billion in 11 months of 2024, a 3.6 per cent increase from the same period in 2023, according to its statistics agency’s recent report.
This growth reflects recent government measures aimed at stimulating exports, optimising imports, and ensuring a balanced foreign trade landscape, the Uzbekistan Statistics Agency’s statement added.
Exports for January-November 2024 totalled $24.2 billion, up 4.4 per cent from 2023. Meanwhile, imports reached $35.1 billion, a 3.0 per cent increase, leading to a negative trade balance of -$10.9 billion.
The largest share of foreign trade turnover is recorded with the following partners: China (19.0 per cent), Russia (18.0 per cent), Kazakhstan (6.5 per cent), Türkiye (4.4 per cent), and the Republic of Korea (3.0 per cent).
