Sisi calls for stronger financial tech framework
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi highlighted the urgent need to strengthen Egypt’s digital financial infrastructure, emphasising the importance of establishing the necessary legislative and regulatory frameworks to advance financial technology and digital payments.
This initiative is a key component of Egypt’s broader digital transformation strategy.
In a meeting on Tuesday with key officials, including Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor Hassan Abdalla, President Sisi discussed the critical role of promoting financial inclusion. He stressed the need to develop tools and mechanisms to integrate all economic sectors into the national development framework through digital solutions, ensuring they benefit from services under the country’s economic reform programme.
The president also directed that the progress of digital banking services be closely monitored, with a particular focus on providing advanced, secure electronic payment solutions that align with global best practices. These efforts aim to drive sustainable development, accelerate digital transformation, and enhance Egypt’s economic performance.
