URGENT: ExxonMobil Egypt discovers gas-bearing reservoirs in N. Marakia Block

ExxonMobil Egypt (Upstream) Limited has successfully completed the drilling of the Nefertari 1 well in the North Marakia Block. The operation, conducted using the Valaris DS-9 drillship, was carried out safely and marked by the identification of gas-bearing reservoirs.

The company announced that it will continue to evaluate the results of the drilling to determine future steps. The North Marakia Block, operated by ExxonMobil, includes QatarEnergy as a strategic partner, highlighting the collaboration between global energy leaders in this promising offshore region.

This achievement underscores ExxonMobil’s ongoing commitment to advancing Egypt’s energy sector and contributing to the development of its natural resources.
