International cooperation minister Naglaa El-Ahwany said on Saturday that Egypt has no intention to obtain an IMF loan and that the government’s invitation for the IMF experts will be by early next year to assess a financial and economic state of affairs in accordance to article IV of the IMF.
The government does not object resuming negotiations if the political leaders saw the need for an IMF loan, El-Ahwany added according to Al-Ahram Gate.
She stated that only the Egyptian government is setting the national program for economic reform and no international intervention from consultancy firms, countries, or institutions.
